FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 29, 2005,St. Louis, Missouri,Kevin Homan
, a soybean grower from Napoleon, Ohio, recently spent five days in western Kentucky, August 3-7, learning about agriculture in that state as part of the Regional Exchange and Awareness Program (REAP) sponsored by the American Soybean Association (ASA) and Nitragin Inc., and hosted by the Kentucky Soybean Association.

Homan, along with nine other farmers from northern states, participated in this unique program that helps build a better understanding of the differences and similarities facing soybean growers across the country.

"The ASA/Nitragin REAP tour encourages the exchange of producer and industry information, enhances producer knowledge and skills, and develops camaraderie between soybean growers from different growing regions," said Bob Metz, President of the American Soybean Association. "This helps growers understand how other soybean farmers around the country are impacted by national farm policies."

The tour focused on the diverse agricultural practices found in western Kentucky with stops at Robey's Dairy and Tobacco Farm, Chaney's Dairy Farm, Miles Opti-Crop facilities and research plots, Sanger's rice and cotton farm, and Perdue Farms.

The soybean growers taking part in the ASA/Nitragin REAP tour also benefit from networking and building relationships with other participants and individuals they meet on tour stops.
