2011 Mizuno Senior All-Star Series
The OHSBCA provided one last opportunity for 80 of the top senior high school baseball players to showcase their talents in front of family, friends and college coaches. The 56th annual Mizuno Senior All-Star Series was played at the V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, home of the Paints on June 10 & 11. This year’s series of 6 games provided each of the 4 teams to play in 3 games, 1-9inning game and 2-7inning games. Each player, selected by the coaches from their district, received a plaque from the OHSBCA along with 2 Mizuno shirts and batting gloves and a specially designed hat from Pukka. Many of the senior players that have not yet committed to a college baseball program for the fall, also participated in a showcase in front of many college coaches. Outstanding pitcher, offensive and defensive awards were handed out to each of the four teams (listed below). There was also a Home Run Derby Contest and Coach’s Fungo contest to complete a great weekend.

We have been fortunate to be able to play this series on the all-turf field at the home of the Chillicothe Paints for the past three years. Their staff has provided a great atmosphere for our athletes and coaches and we are most grateful to them. We would also like to acknowledge all of our member coaches who continue to do great things on and off the field for our high school athletes, and once again did a great job in selecting some of the top seniors throughout the state for this Mizuno honor. Twelve coaches were also recognized by selection of their peers for coaching in this event. Thanks to all in attendance for a great weekend of high school baseball.
