Tim Saunders began his head coaching at Meils H.S. in Pomeroy, OH staying there four
years before moving to Dublin Coffman H.S. in Dublin, OH where he has been the Head
Coach for the past 23 years. Saunders has amassed an incredible record of 447 wins and
290 losses and has received numerous awards being named the Ohio Baseball Coach of the
Year, the USA Baseball Olympic Committee “Developmental Coach of the Year, NHSBCA
District 4 Coach of the Year, and being selected as the Ohio High School Athletic
Association Sportsmanship, Integrity and Ethics recipient.
Dublin Coffman has won 11 League, 13 Sectional, 6 District, 2 Regional, and 1 State
Championship under Saunders reign as Head Coach. He also coached the USA Youth
National team as an Assistant and as a Head Coach winning the goal medal in the Pan
American games played in Monterrey, Mexico in 2000.
Saunders’ teams have earned many awards that reflect his energy, organization, and
discipline. Players coming through Coach Saunders’ program learn a great deal about life
and his teaching of human values is placed ahead of winning games. He teaches players the
importance of hard work, dedication, and team building skills so when they stop playing
baseball; they continue to be positive, contributing people to their communities. Saunders
will do anything for anyone usually without being asked.
Coach Saunders is highly respected in baseball clinician and has given many lectures at
State Coaching Conventions including Ohio, Minnesota, Georgia, Washington, and at
National Conventions in Tulsa, Pittsburgh, and Oklahoma City. Saunders has great
organization skills and demonstrates true sportsmanship and professionalism on and off
the baseball field. He is a hard worker and great mentor to a many coaches and is well
respected not only in Ohio but also nationally. Coach Saunders is a man of integrity,
honesty, while having a wonderful desire to succeed.
