----Call Out----EFO Project Survey: Ambulance Replacement Procedures

Dear Ohio Fire Service Member,

My name is Kevin Rokenbrodt and I am a Battalion Chief with the Menomonee Falls Fire Department in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.  I am a first year Executive Fire Officer Program student at the National Fire Academy.  I am doing my first year project on researching best practice ambulance replacement procedures.  At my department we replace ambulances at 15 years of age and about 150,000 miles on them.  We have seen a sharp increase in maintenance costs and body work.  I have reached out to surrounding states Chief’s Associations for help in researching what other departments have for ambulance replacement procedures.  Part of the reason for reaching out to other Midwestern states is to help determine how the weather/salt usage affects repairs and wear on these vehicles.

I am also receiving surveys completed from around the country as well as private ambulance companies.  My paper will be available through the online database at the NFA when complete.  I would also be happy to forward it on to any of you who are interested after it is graded.  If you think any of my research may be of some help to you please feel free to contact me, my contact information is listed below.

The survey is 10 questions and should take about 5 minutes to complete.  It can be found by clicking on this link:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VJWBFVJ

Thank you and stay safe!
