Full-time/Part-time Firefighter/EMT and Paramedic
City of Delaware
The City of Delaware is currently looking to fill several part-time firefighter positions in order to implement a part-time program. Candidates interested in either part-time or full-time opportunities with the City of Delaware Fire Department should first schedule their test through the City’s testing vendor, National Testing Network (NTN) www.nationaltestingnetwork.com. Part-time personnel are eligible for full-time vacancies.
While the City continually accepts tests scores, the remaining recruitment process is done pursuant to department hiring needs. Candidates scoring within the top 60 highest scores at the time the City elects to pull a list will be notified by the testing vendor in order that the candidate may then complete an online City of Delaware application for employment. Candidates who test prior to February 22, 2016 and elect to have their scores sent to the City of Delaware will be considered in the current round of hiring. Test scores submitted after this date will be considered for the next round of hiring. Test scores obtained through the National Testing Network are valid for a period of one year.
Salary Information Full-time: $20.71/hr Part-time: FF-EMT = $12.00/hr FF-Paramedic = $14.00/hr
Requirements • Minimum age of 18 at time of appointment; age limit of 40 at time of appointment. • High school diploma or GED. • Must be a United States citizen or hold a permanent resident card. • Firefighter I and II certification and EMT-B. • Possession of a valid state of Ohio driver’s license or the ability to obtain an Ohio driver’s license prior to hire date. • Combined NTN score of 75% or greater.
