Entry Level Firefighter Examination
Cambridge Fire Department
A competitive examination for Entry Level Firefighter will be conducted on July 23, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
at the Cambridge High School; 1401 Deerpath Drive; Cambridge, Ohio.
PREREQUISITES INCLUDE:
• Attaining the age of 18 and not greater than age 36, inclusive
• Completion of Ohio Certified Firefighter I & II
• Completion of Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic
• High School diploma, GED, or other proof of high school graduation
• Valid Ohio driver’s license or ability to obtain one
• Payment of a $25.00 examination fee and completion of a Classified Service Employment Application with associated waivers
*Additional credit for former Military Service requires copy of Honorable Discharge.
APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
• Successful completion of Civil Service Examination
• Successful completion of a physical agility exam, oral interview, background check, medical and psychological exam, pre-employment polygraph, and drug screening appropriate to Firefighting
• Must comply with the City of Cambridge Firefighter residency requirements within ninety (90) days after an appointment
Applications must be picked up at the Civil Service Commission office located at 1131 Steubenville Ave. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. only.
Applications must be completed in their entirety and received by 4:00 p.m., July 9, 2015, with proof of Ohio driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one), and if applicable, proof of Honorable Military Service, and payment of $25.00 examination fee. No exceptions.
