Firefighter/Paramedic

Marion Township Fire Department

 

The Marion Township Fire Department is accepting applications from qualified persons to establish an eligibility list from which firefighter/paramedic vacancies will be filled for two years.

 

To be considered for employment, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

 

-          Be a citizen of the United States of America.

-          Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

-          Possess a valid driver’s license.

-          Must possess, or be eligible for, State of Ohio or National Registry certification as a Paramedic.

-          Must possess or be eligible for, certification as Ohio Level II Firefighter.

-          Must present a certificate of completion dated within the last twelve (12) calendar  months of  Firefighter Agility/Ability Testing. The physical agility exam is the responsibility of the candidate to attend and any cost is also the responsibility of the candidate. The following physical ability exams are the only accepted exams of the Marion Township Fire Department.

o   Tri-C Firefighter Physical Agility Testing – Candidates who have not taken this test in the prior twelve (12) months are able to schedule to take this agility test by contacting Cuyahoga Community College. Test date will be November 2 at the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C). Further information regarding this exam and contact information is available at:

  • Due to the date of this agility exam, this certificate will be accepted after the closing date of the application period. Please note that if you are planning on taking this agility test, all other materials MUST be turned in by the deadline. This document is the ONLY document permitted to be turned in after the deadline by only those candidates participating this agility exam.

o   CPAT – Any candidate that has taken the CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) for another jurisdiction within the past twelve (12) months can present a certificate of completion for credit in lieu of the Tri-C exam detailed above.

 

Application packets can be obtained in person at the Marion Township Fire Department Administrative Office located at 744 East Center St., Marion, Ohio 43302, between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm Monday thru Friday beginning on Monday, October 6, 2014, or they are available on-line at www.mariontwp.org.  All applications and associated documents must be returned to the Marion Township Fire Department Administrative Office by 4:00pm on Monday, November 3, 2014.  Applications postmarked on this date will also be accepted.
