Village of Hebron

 

The Village of Hebron, OH is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief. The current Fire Chief is retiring after twenty plus years of service leading the department. Applications may be obtained in person or may be downloaded at www.hebronvillage.com . The completed application must be accompanied by a cover letter with salary requirements and three professional references. Applications will be received until the position is filled. All applications shall be returned in paper form to the Hebron Municipal Complex, 934 W. Main St. Hebron, OH 43025. Envelopes should be labeled “Fire Chief”.

The Hebron Fire Department serves the Village of Hebron and a portion of Union Township, Licking County, State of Ohio, via a multi-year agreement. The Fire Department is staffed 24/7/365 with a combination of full-time/part-time employees.  

The Fire Chief will be required to manage all administrative and operational aspects of the department. The Fire Chief will regularly identify all staffing, equipment and budget needs (current and long-term requirements) and communicate same effectively with the elected officials.  The successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience at the rank of Captain or above in a full-time organization. He or she is expected to be proficient in performing the duties of fire chief to include, but not limited to emergency response, incident command, finance, budget management, grant writing, human resources/personnel, planning and logistics. The candidate must be community minded, and will be required to prove how they meet this requirement.

The minimum qualifications are state minimum FF II/EMT-P; Fire Officer I, II, III or equivalent curriculum.   Candidate must have successfully completed Ohio Fire and Emergency Services Ohio Fire Executive or National Fire Academy Chief Executive Officer program.   Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Fire or Public Service preferred. Candidates meeting said criteria may be called for an interview. Salary range is $65,000-$70,000 based on qualifications and experience. The Village of Hebron conducts an exhaustive background investigation, and has the right to accept or reject any and all applications based on information acquired from background information.
