Executive Staff
Julie Davis, Ed.D.
Upon graduation from North Park University, I began my teaching career in the Chicago area. After relocating to Columbus, I taught and then served as a Teacher Leader in the Gahanna-Jefferson School district. I obtained my Master’s degree from The Ohio State University and my administrative certification work was done at Ashland University. My Doctor of Education degree with a concentration in Organizational Leadership was earned at Nova Southeastern University. My experience as a SAIL participant was a critical component of my doctoral studies and accounted for the required specialization aspect of the degree.
I have had the opportunity to serve as a principal in the South-Western City School district, Upper Arlington City School district, and Grandview Heights City School district. I spent four years as the professional development director for the Central Ohio Regional School Improvement Team), providing support and professional development to educators in 46 school districts in and around the Columbus area. I have been the Director of SAIL for Education since July 2006 and have been the Executive Director of OAESA since July 2008. I also am an adjunct professor for several universities.
Each assignment in my career has afforded me the opportunity to learn from incredibly talented members of our profession. Each position has introduced me to men and women who are committed to doing what is best for children. Each opportunity has challenged and stretched my thinking. Each situation has affirmed the importance of teachers and principals working together within a collaborative educational framework. Each responsibility has prepared me for this wonderful opportunity to lead the work and serve the members of OAESA.
On a personal note, I am married to a wonderful man, Bill Davis, who is also an educator. We are the proud parents of five grown children and three delightful grandsons.
