The seminar will focus on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) as it relates to principals. The current status of implementation of IDEIA in Ohio, including revision of Ohio’s special education regulations, will be discussed. Topics will include alignment with the No Child Left Behind Act; IEP Process; due process; role of the principal in special education; discipline of students with disabilities; and new provisions in the law. Focus: Ohio Standards for Principals – Standards 2 & 5
