NADA Washington Conference
Recently NADA (National Auto Dealers Assoc) held their annual Washington Conference for dealers around the country. This year, they encouraged participating state and metro associations to bring Next Gen dealers to this 2 day event. Largely, the Washington Conference is a chance for state associations representatives, along with a some dealers to fly into Washington DC together and meet with legislators to discuss our businesses and the interests we have moving forward. During this visit, we focused on unreasonable C.A.F.E. standards being imposed and the detrimental impact those and the regulating agencies enforcing them stand to have on our business.
The OADA Executive Committee was present as well as Next Gen Dealers Jessica Germain (Columbus), DJ Yark (Toledo), Josh Sweeney (Cincinnati), Paul Hrnchar Jr. (Cleveland) and Bob O’Donnell (Cleveland). Click here to see some photos from the trip.
We visited with a number of legislators including Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-8th), Marcy Kaptur (D-9th), Bob Latta (R-5th), Steve Stivers (R-15th), Steve Austria (R-7th), and Bob Gibbs (R-18th). Congressman Austria had recently offered an amendment to help relieve our industry of duplicative regulation from multiple government agencies that all dealers and association representatives were pushing in their legislative meetings. Again, Ohio played an important role at the federal level.

IMPORTANT - There will be dedicated subject matter to Next Gen dealers at this year’s OADA Convention and we hope to have many Next Gen dealers participating with us in Orlando this spring. More information coming….
