Colleen Woods, New Jersey Health IT Coordinator, who is part of the Governor’s Office, will host this first Webinar in the 2012 Webinar series on Electronic Health Records and Health IT.

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, EST “Introduction to Electronic Health Records and Health IT: What it means to Healthcare Providers and Patients”

Keynote: David Blumenthal, Former National Health IT Coordinator with NJ Physicians and Health IT Leaders

New Jersey Hospitals, Physicians and Healthcare Professionals are rolling out EHRs and Health IT as part of a nationwide movement to improve healthcare with the use of computers and health information technology. The goal is to have a real-time patient record, called an Electronic Health Record (EHR), for every person in New Jersey by 2014. The Webinar will feature the first national physician leader of the current Health IT initiative who will be joined by New Jersey physician leaders in describing what EHRs and Health IT are, the value to both physicians and patients, and what patients and physicians can anticipate.
