Born Free International
This new international gender equity web site has just been launched by professor emerita Sunny Hansen of the Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology Program (CSPP) at the University of Minnesota. The site, under development for the last three years, consists of original, revised, and new print materials formerly created by 14 Minnesota institutions through a Federal grant from the Women's Educational Equity Act in the late 70s. BORN FREE is an acronym which stands for exactly what the project is about: to Build Options, Reassess Norms, and Free Roles, through Educational Equity (or in some cultures Education and Employment). The materials can be useful in gender equity courses, women's studies programs, gender development training, and international gender studies.
