The NCDA Career Development Facilitator (CDF) Training is a 120-hour instructional program designed for individuals who assist others with career development. The training has value for both front-line personnel and program administrators in a milieu of settings. Course content includes in-depth coverage of the following topics:
- Career and labor market information and resources including the Internet
- Career planning processes DF
- Basic helping and facilitation skills DF
- Career development models and theories
- Informal and formal assessment approaches
- Diversity and specific population needs
- Development and maintenance of an effective career resource center
- Training others and program promotion
- Case management and referral skills
- Ethical and scope of practice issues
- Professional and resource portfolios
- Cutting-edge job search including electronic job search
- And more…
Individuals that complete this training program are eligible to apply for the Global CDF Certification available from the Center in Credentialing and Education.

Facilitating Career Development: Instructor Package
The instructor package includes all items in the Student Package plus an Instructor Manual and transparency masters for class presentations. The transparencies are provided both on a disk (PowerPoint) and as paper copies. The instructor manual includes the following for each instructional unit: learning objectives, instructor preparation needed, a sample schedule, instructor resources, and additional worksheets for the competencies and for the use of websites included on the CD-ROM.
