Kauffman:

I, also, feel we need to somehow incorporate the following into to the ACA 20/20 or additional piece. It's actually lifted from Roger's Status Study. I know it's focused on ACA divisions similar to ours, but so much of what counseling practitioners are asked to do by supervisors and administrators is to justify the worth of counseling. In our case, justify career counseling. It would be wonderful to have some learning outcome models practitioners can pick up off the shelf to use in the trenches. It would be ideal if our professional counseling association helped more purposefully with this.

Currently, there is very little documentation available to substantiate the economic, personal and social value of career development services for young people and adults. This documentation is needed to create public policy and develop recommendations to encourage schools, agencies and employers to provide comprehensive career development services to their students, clients and employees.
In order to reinvigorate career development services in schools and organizations, it is imperative that efforts are made to document the cost effectiveness of career development services in promoting workforce development.

Hoppin:
Thank you for your input, Natalie.  I will send your suggestion on to the ACA chair of the 20/20 committee.  I think the committee will give it their consideration as they implement the vision.
