CDF Advisory Council - Shirley Rowe

Shirley Rowe, M.Ed., GCDF-I. After twenty years as a career advisor in higher education, Shirley is now turning her expertise to expand Front Rowe Consulting, a consulting firm offering career management, instructional design, speaking and training services. A trainer/educator, career coach, writer/editor, and instructional designer, she brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into her role as a career development practitioner.  Shirley is passionate about incorporating new ways of using technology in the delivery of services and is a strong proponent of online learning.  She has taught an undergraduate Personal Career Planning course and is certified as an instructor for the Career Development Facilitator certification sponsored by the NCDA which she has taught nationally and internationally.  Shirley earned her Bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College and her M.Ed. in Educational Technology from The University of Texas at Brownsville.

She has presented at both national and local conferences on a wide range of topics including LinkedIn, survey development, the Power of Social Media and the use of technology and has written numerous articles and book reviews as well. Shirley has recently been selected to serve on the NCDA’s Advisory Council which is responsible for oversight of the Career Development Facilitator training program and also serves on the NCDA Technology Committee. She is a founding member and serves on the Board of Directors of CORE 4 Women, a non-profit organization committed to assisting women seeking education via distance learning. Additional professional affiliations include the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), Texas Distance Learning Association (TXDLA), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
