Thursday, september 26, 2013
3:00 - 4:30 pm EST

Enjoy the convenience and cost-efficiency of a webinar workshop. There is no travel time involved and no limit to the number of attendees from your agency who may participate at your site through one hook-up. All you need to participate is a speaker telephone and a computer or laptop. You will be provided a toll-free number and the code for web access.

The final 2014 Hospice Wage Index and rule were released August 2, 2013

This webinar will provide an overview of the 172 pages of material in the final rule with an emphasis on the coding issues.  The program will provide an overview of CMS final comments on coding related to diagnoses and the decision on when claims with questionable diagnoses, such as adult failure to thrive and debility (when listed as the primary diagnosis), will be returned to providers for adjustments prior to the processing.

The program will also summarize the thread of comments related to the need for hospices to thoroughly discuss conditions considered to be related to the terminal condition or status of the patient with beneficiaries and their caregivers so that they have full information to make informed decisions on which treatment options they may choose to elect.

Following the presentation, there will be an open question and answer opportunity for questions related to the final rule and hospice coding questions.
