Finding and Keeping Good People has been a frequent focus of discussion among distributors at meetings and conferences.
Because of our ties to the local community, studies have indicated that distributors can effectively recruit graduates from local community colleges. With the support of many wholesale-distributor trade associations (including HARDI) the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) has taken a leadership role to establish distribution curriculum and programs in local community colleges. The program is called "Industrial Careers PathwaySM"
Your HARDI Foundation believes this is a vital first step in securing a continuous supply of quality entry-level people for our member firms. A local program can also be a powerful resource for continuing education among existing employees.
What should interested members do?
First, if a program has been started in your area (Click here to download the list), please join the advisory group. (Local wholesaler participation is absolutely essential to assure success.) If a program has not been started, there is a "toolkit" guide available on how to start a program in your area. Contact HARDI for more information.
