2012 CALL FOR PAPERS

103rd ANNUAL MEETING of the EASTERN COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATION

APRIL 26-29, 2012

ROYAL SONESTA HOTEL, CAMBRIDGE, MA

“Transitions” 

The Organizational Communication Interest Group is seeking submissions for ECA's 103rd Annual Meeting in Cambridge, MA. This year's convention theme, Transitions, evokes thoughts of change, as well as movement, passages, and journeys.  Submissions focusing on the theme of transitions are particularly encouraged but other submissions are welcome. Submissions will be accepted electronically by email with attachment(s) to Rebecca.Chory@mail.wvu.edu. All submissions must be received by Friday, October 14, 2011.  

Completed Paper Submissions should be emailed with the following: 

1. TWO attached Microsoft Word (.doc or .rtf) files: 

2. The email subject line should include the abbreviation “ECA” and the title of the paper. The email text should include any requests for presentation aids such as overhead projector, TV/DVD player, etc. (see below). 

* If the paper is a multi-authored paper, please indicate who will be presenting at the convention. 

Panel Proposal Submissions should be emailed and include the following:

2. The email subject line should include the abbreviation “ECA” and the title of the panel. The email text should include any requests for presentation aids such as overhead projector, TV/DVD player, etc. (see below). 

Papers and panels not meeting these submission guidelines will not be distributed for review.  

Statement of Professional Responsibility 

ALL submissions must include (on the second page) a statement of professional responsibility that reads: 

“In submitting the attached paper/panel, I/we recognize this submission is a professional responsibility. I/We agree to present this paper/panel if it is accepted and programmed. I/We further recognize that all who attend or present at ECA's annual meeting must register and pay required fees.” 

Technology Policy 

ECA has a Technology Policy (available in full text at http://www.ecasite.org/pdf/technologypolicy042007.pdf). Please note in particular the section that reads, "ECA will not approve requests for the following technology: personal computers, laser printers, satellite links, teleconference equipment, LCD panels and projectors, video data projects, and digital versatile/video disc equipment."
