ECA - 2012 Convention - Call for Papers - Intercultural Communication Interest Group

**CALL FOR PAPERS**

INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION INTEREST GROUP

EASTERN COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATION
103rd ANNUAL CONVENTION
April 26- 29th, 2012
Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Intercultural Communication Interest Group is seeking paper and program submissions for ECA's Annual Convention to be held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston in Cambridge, Massachusetts from April 26 – 29th, 2012. The convention theme, Transitions, evokes thoughts of change, as well as movement, passages, and journeys, and provides us the opportunity to explore and discuss important shifts in intercultural communication theory and practice. Submissions must be made electronically and received by October 14, 2011.

Of particular interest is research that explores the shifting (transitioning) ways that “culture” may be understood in an economically-interdependent, technologically-interconnected, and hybrid global context.

Individual Paper Submissions:

Individual papers are completed papers that report original research, provide an extensive literature review or state of the art, or showcase some other form of scholarship. Papers that are to be considered will be no more than 25 pages (excluding title page, abstract, references, and appendices) and comply with the guidelines set forth in APA 6th edition. Submit two files (see below) concerning your submission, saved in Microsoft Word (.doc files) to Kathleen Glenister Roberts at robertskg@duq.edu.  Include in the email subject line the abbreviation “ECA” and the title of your paper.
