ECA - 2012 Convention - Call for Papers - Argumentation and Forensics Interest Group

ARGUMENTATION & FORENSICS

Call for Submissions
103rd Annual Eastern Communication Association
Royal Sonesta Hotel
Cambridge, Massachusetts
April 26-29, 2012

Conference Theme – Transitions

Submission Deadline – October 14, 2011

The 103rd Annual Convention of the Eastern Communication Association (ECA) is scheduled for April 26-29, 2012 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston, located on the Cambridge side of the Charles River, overlooking the beautiful Boston skyline.

Much communication scholarship and practice articulates transition, including cycles of interpersonal relationships; social change; the digital revolution; the changing urban landscape and the social, economic and political changes we are experiencing.  Whether you want to explore the transitions in our country during an election year, transitions being made in teaching and the academy or any other aspect of transition, the Convention’s theme, Transitions, is one that promises many opportunities for us to participate in meaningful, scholarly dialogue.  As a theme, Transitions evokes thoughts of change, but it also evokes movement, passages and journeys.  Not all transitions are pleasant, but they do often bring greater enlightenment and renewal.
