ECA - 2012 Convention - Call for Papers - Communication Law and Ethics Interest Group

Communication Law and Ethics

103rd Annual Eastern Communication Association Convention

“Transitions”

Cambridge, Massachusetts

Royal Sonesta Hotel
April 26-29, 2012

Submission Deadline: October 14, 2011

The Communication Law and Ethics Interest Group of the Eastern Communication Association, invites the submission of competitive papers, thematic program/panel proposals, and innovative programming alternatives (e.g., roundtables, symposia, debates, open forums, and community programs) for the 103rd annual convention of the ECA.

The 2012 convention’s theme, “Transitions,” speaks to our own potential transition from traditional academicians to public scholars, not merely informing the discipline of current issues emerging in communication law and ethics, but seeking to challenge consensus on matters of free speech, privacy, corporate media ownership, technological convergence, etc., to identify the social implications of these issues, and to suggest social change

In keeping with this theme, we ask you to consider papers, thematic panels, and other programs that explore these issues and the question of public scholarship, and how these topics and questions intersect with the critical, methodological, research, and/or theoretical issues of Communication Law and Ethics.

General information about the 2012 Call for Papers can be found at http://www.ecasite.org
