CSCA - 2012 - Community College Interest Group - Call for Papers Deadline TODAY!
Hello, colleagues!
I just wanted to pop in a brief reminder that this is the last week to submit program proposals for the 2012 CSCA annual conference in Cleveland, Ohio! There have been some good ideas tossed around so far and a number of them are listed on the Community College Interest Group (CCIG) Google Document at this address: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1apiu_GbmD1ess_6fZmlSxGkRF2k5CkJtvKMvvVRczRM/edit?hl=en_US. If you are putting together a proposal on any of these topics, we need to have the proposal submitted using the template on the CSCA website no later than this Friday, September 30, 2011.
Additionally, I would like to remind you that the theme for this conference is “Connecting in Cleveland”. A primary tenet of this theme is to find ways to connect different parts of the discipline and of CSCA. So, if your proposal can connect well with another interest group, please make a point of noting this in your proposal or try to connect with people in other areas beforehand. For example, I have received an email from Nicole Johnson with the Argumentation & Forensics Interest Group that they have a proposal that wants to look at forensics teams in community colleges. If you are involved with a forensics team at your community college and are interested in being a part of that panel, you should contact her at nicole.lynn.jay@gmail.com.
It is shaping up to be a great year with CSCA and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Cleveland already. One last little thing: Would you like to have a CCIG meetup outside of our normal business meeting? If you would, please take this brief survey here and offer your feedback: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHNuYlVqMjZ3bENaeXNmRDFXRVpadnc6MQ
I hope that September is being kind to you. It looks as though autumn is upon us after all. I hope that you are able to take some time to enjoy it.
Best,
Jacob
