CFP: Central States Communication The Health Communication Division welcomes submissions of papers and panel proposals for the 2012 CSCA Conference. Any topic related to health communication is welcomed; however, we encourage submissions that focus on the convention theme. Additionally, we strongly encourage undergraduate and graduate student papers. A broad range of topics are welcomed, although suggested topics should focus on how communication and health are reciprocally influenced across the lifespan. A variety of contexts can and should be considered, such as interpersonal relationships (doctor-patient, relational partners, etc.), family and small group contexts, organizational, intercultural, community, and mediated contexts.

A variety of formats are also welcome including competitive paper panels, roundtable discussions, spotlight and dialogue sessions, debates, action caucus, seminar, high density programming, and Internet discussion groups for which papers are read prior to the conference and sessions focus on responding to and discussing the papers.

Guidelines for Submission:

Please note the following directions for paper and panel proposals:

1. Papers must conform to current APA standards and need a detachable title page that allows the author(s) identity/identities to be concealed. Remove all author references in the text of the paper. Indicate if author(s) is/are CSCA members. Students (including graduate students) should type "STUDENT" on the upper right-hand corner of the title page.

2. A scholar may only be first author on two of the papers submitted.

3. Each paper submitted cannot exceed 25 pages, excluding references and appendices. Papers exceeding the maximum page limit will not be considered for review. All attachments must be submitted electronically using Microsoft Word 2003. Documents sent using any other format will be returned to the sender. An e-mail acknowledging receipt of paper and panel proposals will be sent for each submission.

4. Panel proposals need a title, a brief abstract, name of person responsible for the program, as well as names, institutional affiliations, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of each panel participant. Indicate if participants are CSCA members. Panel proposals must adhere to the 2012 CSCA Panel Proposal Request Form available on the CSCA website.

5. Awards will be given to the top student competitive paper and top non-student competitive paper.

**Note: The only media available will be a projector for computers; you must bring your own computer. Internet access will not be available.

Deadline: Submissions must be received by 11:59 pm on Friday, September 30, 2011.

Submit all papers and panel proposals as a MICROSOFT WORD 2003 attachment to the interest program planner listed below.  Send your submissions to:
