CSCA INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES INTEREST GROUP CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The Instructional Resources Division welcomes submissions of papers and panel proposals for the 2012 CSCA Conference. Any topic related to instructional resources, including all forms of technology, assessment, and instructional ideas, is welcomed; however, we encourage submissions that focus on the convention theme. Additionally, we strongly encourage undergraduate and graduate student papers. A wide range of topics are welcomed, although suggested topics include wikis as classroom environments or tools, civic engagement and service learning usage, intellectual property rights, film and media samples and tools to foster discussion on current affairs, classroom management software usage, pod casting usage, use of movies in courses, rubrics to assess pod cast creations, cheating and cell phones, use of laptops in the classroom, retention in online courses, software for grading presentations, incivility in the classroom via technological tools, blogging assignments, and other topics related to instructional resources.
1) Awards: The Instructional Resources Interest Group has traditionally offered a $50.00 award for the top rated competitive paper and a $50.00 award for the top rated panel or roundtable discussion.
2) Papers must conform to APA or MLA standards and need a detachable title page that allows the author(s) identity/identities to be concealed. Remove all author references in the text of the paper. Indicate if the author(s) is/are CSCA members.
3) Competitive Paper Panel Proposals need a title, an abstract of the panel (140 words or less), an abstract for each paper (75 words or less), name of person responsible for the program, as well as names, institutional affiliations, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of each panel participant. Indicate if participants are CSCA members. NOTE: Panel proposals must adhere to the 2012 CSCA Panel Proposal Request Form (available at http://www.csca-net.org/).
4) Roundtable Discussion Proposals need a title, an abstract of the panel (140 words or less), name of person responsible for the program, as well as names, institutional affiliations, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of each panel participant. Indicate if participants are CSCA members. NOTE: Panel proposals must adhere to the 2012 CSCA Panel Proposal Request Form (available at http://www.csca-net.org/).
5) Submission: Submit all papers and panel proposals as a MICROSOFT WORD (must be 2003 version, .doc NOT .docx) attachment to the interest program planner listed below.
