STUDENTS Chapter:

The Biomedical Engineering Society's student chapters are the foundation for our society, uniting and promoting the future of the biomedical engineering profession. BMES charters and supports more than 100 BMES student chapters. For rising biomedical engineers, these chapters offer the chance to establish leadership, publish, and participate in a wide range of activities that will enhance their careers.

Student chapters in good standing receive a complimentary subscription to the BMES monthly journal, the Annals of Biomedical Engineering, and the two quarterly journals, Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering and Cardiovascular Engineering & Technology.  They are legible for awards, and more...

11th Annual Graduate Student Research Symposium  - The Biomedical Engineering (BMES) Society Student Chapter @ Virginia Tech & Wake Forest University are hosting an annual School of Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Research Symposium to provide students with the opportunity to interact and exchange research ideas with colleagues and industry personnel.  For more information  11th Annual SBES Symposium

I am pleased to announce new and improved Chapter Awards that include more travel support and free memberships for student members to BMES! The FLYER will give you more details about how to apply for the awards. 

In addition, the BMES Student Affairs committee developed a new format for the Chapter Development Reports that will make it simpler for you to report to national on what you are doing. Student Report Guidelines

To charter or renewal a BMES student chapters...

Minimum of 10 BMES student members and a BMES faculty advisor also members in good standing. The primary benefits available to currently chartered BMES student chapters include:

  • Eligibility for BMES Travel Awards to the BMES annual meeting
  • Eligibility for BMES Chapter Meritorious awards
  • Eligibility for BMES Fleetest Feet award
  • Networking among the greatest BMEs
